Obersving different shape moon craters in our Space Science topic; Investigating rivers in our Water Cycle topic; Attracting a ghost in our Static Electricity session; Investigating magnets in our Chinese Inventions topic.

Decorating planets using treasure-hunt facts in our Space Science topic; Making a weather wheel in our Weather topic; Forming a star map for the Orion constellation, Space Science topic; Sorting push and pull forces using a Venn diagram in our Fabulous Forces topic; 

A tasty Martian Helicopter for our Space Science topic; Planting marigold seeds for our Plants and Pollinators topic; Water and wind gauges for our Weather topic; Willow Pattern inspired art for our Chinese Inventions topic.

Topics tend to last 6-8 weeks but sometimes we will do something seasonal such as potions for Halloween, code-breaking for Armistice Day or Chinese inventions for Chinese New Year. 

Topics have included: 

Acids and Bases; Ice Crystals; Stone-Age Technology; Dissolving Solutions; Sight and the Eye; Space Science; Forces and Friction; Colour; Plants and Pollinators; Migration and Hibernation; The Romans; Sound and the Ear; The Forces of Flight; Light and Shadow; World War 2; The Water Cycle; Shapes and Sequences; Floating, Sinking and Density...

"So I'm pretty geeky really! I have 3 degrees in Physics including a doctorate (although I am not a medical doctor, too icky for me!). 

I also love history and music, playing the piano and reading books too. So I'd like to think I'm a well-rounded person, not too serious!

I like children to discover science for themselves so there's lots of hands-on experiments, fact-finding treasure hunts, creative craft and technology projects and really bad jokes too!

To make sure children have fun while learning, I throw in a few quirks, games, and lots of laughs to keep things light-hearted. I'm just a big kid at heart so any excuse for some silliness is alright with me!"
